Kathryn Filkins

Kathryn A. Filkins, 61, of Topeka, passed away Friday, January 18, 2008 at her home. Kathryn was born in Topeka on May 9, 1946, the daughter of James C. Jr., and Anna Jean Spaulding-Filkins. Kathryn lived at home throughout her life.
Survivors include her mother, Anna of the home, brothers; Jim (Sue) Filkins, Lincoln, NE, Charles (Marilyn) Filkins, Berryton, and Steve Filkins, Denver, CO; a sister, Gwen (Greg) Steele, Topeka. Also surviving are two aunts; Jo Ann Benton and Pat Wall, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Kathryn was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka, with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Kathryn will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Monday January 21, 2008, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.
