Kay Anderson, 90, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2008 at a Topeka hospital.
She was born on October 9, 1917 and raised on a farm in Ruffin, NC. Kathleen graduated from the University of North Carolina obtaining a degree in education. She taught business school prior to her marriage. She lived in Topeka for the past 55 years.
Among her many activities she was a member of LowmanUnitedMethodistChurch, Garden Club and of PEO Chapter DV.
Kathleen married Lynn Anderson January 19, 1946 in Charlotte, NC. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2001. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen Sue Anderson in 1975. Survivors include one son, Charles L. Anderson of Wyomissing, PA, and one granddaughter, Kathleen Elizabeth Anderson of Wyomissing, PA.
Kathleen will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2008 at LowmanUnitedMethodistChurch. Burial will follow in MountHopeCemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to LowmanUnitedMethodistChurch, 4000 S.W. Drury Lane, Topeka, 66604.
