Karol Sue Emery

Karol Sue Emery, born on October 21, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully at The Gardens at Aldersgate on December 10, 2024. A cherished wife, mother and grandmother, Karol will be deeply missed by her loved ones and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

An industrious woman, Karol enjoyed her career at Hallmark and found joy in the little things—like the feel of a book in her hand, and so she was rarely seen without one. Her love of reading was equally matched by her passion for travel with her husband Carl (whom she married on December 10, 1962), where they explored countless places, enriching their life with new experiences. Until his death, she enjoyed the freshly cut flowers that were always supplied by her husband Carl.

Karol leaves behind her children: Larry Emery, Lori (Henryk) Zajac, and Adam (Tyra) Emery, and her grandson Kyle Emery, as well as her beloved dog Zoey and many nieces and nephews.

Karol is preceded in death by her husband Carl, her parents Eva and Bill Currington, her sisters Fran, Karen, Kim, and Linda, and her brothers Bill and Loren.

Cremation is planned and no services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to www.alz.org.
