Karen Moore, 52, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. She was born July 21, 1963 in Topeka, the daughter of Gerald and Alida (Monfort) Moore. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1981. Karen earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Interior Design from Kansas State University in 1985.
Karen enjoyed a wonderful career in the Contract Furnishings Industry which spanned 30 years. She was employed by the Momentum Group based in Irvine, CA for the past 18 years. She was involved in many professional and personal affiliations including the International Interior Design Association, NEWH and the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri.
Survivors include her mother, Alida Moore of Topeka, her siblings, Susan Moore Palmer of Kansas City, MO, Janice Moore (Eric) Peterson of Kansas City, MO, Jim (Susan) Moore of Oakland, CA, and Tim Moore of Kansas City, MO, and two nephews, Olin Moore and Thomas Peterson.
A celebration of Karen's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private interment will take place in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Luke's Hospice House, 3516 Summit St., Kansas City, MO 64111.
