Karen Kahler, 44, died November 28, 2009 at her grandmother's home in Burlingame, KS.
She was born July 30, 1965 to Paul and Pat (Wight) Hetrick in Topeka, KS.
She graduated from Wichita High School South in 1983. She attended Kansas State University where she met Kraig Kahler. The two were married on December 28, 1985. The couple had three children, Emily, Lauren and Sean. The family lived in a number of locations including Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas and most recently Missouri, but her roots were in Burlingame and she considered it home.
She devoted most of her time to her children as a homemaker. Through her own pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, she discovered her passion for teaching others about health and fitness. She became a personal trainer and began studying for a degree in health science at the University of Missouri.
She is survived by her father and step-mother Paul and Sandra Hetrick, mother Pat Hetrick, brother Bill Hetrick and wife Donna, sister Lynn Denton and husband Tim, and son, Sean Kahler.
Services will be held at Federated Church in Burlingame, KS on Saturday, December 5 at 10:00 a.m.
