Junior "Jack" R. Roberts
Junior R. Roberts, 75, of Topeka, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Midland Hospice House.
Junior was born October 11, 1934 in Osage County, Kansas the son of Warren and Marilyn (Coday) Roberts.
He retired from Frito Lay, Inc. in 2001 where he was the proud recipient of their Million Mile Safety Award.
An honest and caring man, he was beloved by all who knew him for his generosity, humor, strength of character and integrity.
Junior married Beverly Brown February 17, 1956 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Christopher Roberts, Topeka; Dane Roberts and his wife Dr. Susan Hickman and granddaughter Amelia Roberts, Carmel, IN; sisters, Mildred Greene, Carbondale, KS; Jean Ellis and Peg Lira, both of Topeka; brothers, Moody Roberts, Eskridge, KS; Kenneth Roberts, Burlingame, KS; Bob Roberts, Carbondale, KS; Bill Roberts, Harveyville, KS and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe Roberts and sisters, Olive Moore, Dorothy Visnosky, Goldie Lind and Shirley Watts.
Junior will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. that evening. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery at 6th and Gage. Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W.
