Julie L. Hayes, 50, of Topeka, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014, at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
Julie was born October 22, 1963, in Junction City, KS, daughter of Roger and Helen (Shane) Hayes. Her family moved to Topeka in 1968. She attended school at Topeka Education Center. Julie worked at TARC Industries and resided at Sheltered Living, Inc.
She enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics and attending White Memorial summer camp. Julie was a spirited individual with a great sense of humor. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Julie is survived by her sister, Becky Hayes, and her wife, Terry Briscoe, of Portland, OR; and niece, Leeann Briscoe, Bellingham, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Karen Hayes.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Highland Cemetery, Junction City.
Memorial contributions may be made to TARC Industries, Sheltered Living, Inc. or Palliative Care Services at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
