Julia A. "Judy" Kesinger-Slater, 74, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2007.
She was born Feb.11, 1933 in Berryton. She graduated from Highland Park H.S. in 1951. She married Charles V. Slater in 1951.
She was a teaching assistant for USD-501 from 1980 to 1996.
Survivors include sons: Gregory A. Slater and wife, Alice, Charles C. Slater; grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Payton, Benjamin, Sasha, Kayla; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother, Pete Kesinger, all of Topeka. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Ann Slater.
Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and working in her yard. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Topeka Cemetery. Judy will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
