Judy Mirlene Long, 81, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
She was born August 15, 1943, in Bentonville, Arkansas, the daughter of Kenneth Mirl and Dena Ruth (Scantlin) Crouse. She was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson, KS and received her Associates Degree from Hutchinson Junior College.
Judy was employed by SSC CPAs & Advisors in Topeka until retiring.
She was a Charter Member of Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene in Topeka. Her church was very important to her as she assisted on many levels, including serving as NMI President, Church Secretary, Drama Director, Choir Member, Bible Quizzing Coach, Sunday School Teacher, Small Group Leader, TelePrayer Leader, serving on the Work and Witness Team on many occasions and calling on home bound church members.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Evans of Riverside, MO; two grandchildren, Leah Evans and Cooper (Courtney) Evans, a great-grandson, Ronin Scott Evans expected in February of 2025; a step-grandson, Josh (Shawna) Evans; two sisters, Kimberly (Paul) Nelson of Newton, KS and their children, Tamaira George and Whitney Nelson and Sheila Bolte of Hutchinson, KS and her daughter, Nicole Bolte and a niece, Brooke Litton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Patricia Crouse-Litton.
Judy loved spending time with her family. She was a generous person who enjoyed helping others.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2024 at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene, 3501 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, KS, where a funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in Topeka is assisting the family.
