Judy Kay Connell, age 78, of Topeka, KS, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 18, 2022.
Judy was born the daughter of George Thomas Rowe and Donna Ruth (Denton) Smith on July 21, 1943. She was a graduate from Topeka High School in 1961. On August 15, 1962, Judy was united in marriage to Otis Owen Connell for nearly 60 years. Otis survives at their home in Topeka, KS.
Judy worked at Kansas Bureau of Investigations as an Administrative Assistant until 1996. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed arts and crafts, bowling, antiquing, reading and traveling. She was involved in the Parent Teachers Association while raising her children.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother Donna and her father George. Survivors include her husband, Otis, three daughters, Christine Ruth Smith and her husband Dave of Topeka, Elizabeth Dee Connell and her husband Gerald DuBose of Benton, Arkansas, Donna Michelle Connell and her husband Con Olson of Osage City, and her son Jason Connell of Rossville. Judy had ten beloved grandchildren, William, Samantha, Alexandrea, Christopher, Kristen, Jessica, Michelle, Christopher, Dawson, and Braden. She also had eight great-grandchildren, Jaelynn, Ryleigh, Aria, Braxton, Landon, Riley, Clyde and Kane. In addition, Judy's sister's Kathy Chamberlain and her husband Jim of Evergreen, Colorado, Terri Casarona and her Husband Ron of Topeka, Kansas as well as her brother Stan Rowe and wife Lorraine of Lawrence also survive.
The life of Judy will be remembered during a graveside service on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS. After the graveside, please join her family at the American Legion, 442 Main St, Rossville, KS 66533 to Celebrate her Life and share memories.
