Judith "Judy" Covey Waner, 80, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Stormont Vail Health Center.
She was born July 4, 1940, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Carl Covey and Loris Pierce Barnes King.
Judy graduated from Marion High School. After graduating she received a degree in nursing and furthered her career becoming a Registered Nurse. She worked for St. Luke Hospital in Marion, Kansas majority of her life. She also worked at Marion Manor and Parkside Home Nursing Home in Hillsboro.
Judith married Eugene Waner on July 12, 1958 at St. Marks Catholic Church in Marion, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2001.
Judy is also preceded in death by both of her parents; step mother, Linda Marten Covey; and sister, Sharran Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Gomez; sons, Ty (Charlotte) Waner, Jerald (Rebecca) Waner; Step-Brother, Byron (Wendy) McCarty; Half Sister, Jackie (Wayne) Richardson; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date.
