Judith A. Henry Bargeman, 80, of Topeka, Kansas passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
She was born August 19, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter Myron and Hannah (Schwarz) Henry. She graduated from the Missouri School for the Deaf. She attended Helen Keller National Center in Sands Point, NY to improve her ability to read Braille, she worked in the community at several temporary jobs, and learned daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, financial tasks, and learning to utilize Braille emblems to mark items that she would use on a daily basis.
Judy was employed by Wichita Industries for the Blind as a seamstress and retired in 1979.
She enjoyed reading New York Times, National Geographic, and all volumes of Harry Potter by Braille. Judy also enjoyed creating different hook rugs and playing Uno.
Judith married Charles Bargeman October 16, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in passing on September 23, 2003. Survivors include a best friend, Sandra Andrews. She was preceded in passing by her parents, and one brother, Melvin Henry.
Honoring Judy's wishes, cremation is planned. A Celebration of Her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Palliative and Hospice Care, 6828 Silverheel, Shawnee, Kansas 66226.
