Juanita May Weston-Hedstrom, born January 25, 1923, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2013. She passed away at home in Frisco, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Colon, Nebraska to John and Millie Frye.
She was a graduate of Berryton High School and she spent most of her life in Kansas, Iowa, and Texas..
She married Warren Howard Weston and to this marriage two daughters were born, Carol May Bivans; married to Ronnie Bivans and Janet Eileen Messamaker; married to Douglas Messamaker, all of Frisco, Texas. She and Warren had 44 years together before his passing in 1987.
Juanita retired from Southwestern Bell after 23 years of service.
She married George C. Hedstrom of Topeka, Ks.in 1991.
She leaves behind her husband, George and her two daughters, four grandchildren, Alan Heaberlin his wife Marta , Aaron Heaberlin his wife Sara , Beth Weems her husband Curtis, and Jason Rudman and his wife Kimberly , five great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is one brother, Everett Frye, of Glendora, California. She also leaves behind step children, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
When living in Topeka she was an active member of First Southern Baptist Church of Topeka. She loved planning Senior outings and trips with her very active Sunday School class. She loved to travel, fish, and work in her garden.. She was an expert quilt maker, producing 24 of them to give as gifts to all of her family members for keepsakes and heirlooms.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Funeral services will be in the Mount Hope Chapel on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 1:00pm.
