Juanita Elizabeth Stewart, 89, of Carbondale, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 16, 2005.
Juanita was born in Platte City, MO to Oscar and Isa Anderson on January 31, 1916. She moved to Kansas at the age of five and grew up in Jefferson and Jackson Counties. Juanita married David W. Stewart in 1934 and he predeceased her on January 1, 2000. She has lived in Topeka and surrounding areas since 1953.
She retired from Josten's Yearbook after 30 years was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church and attended Overbrook Bible Church.
She was much loved by all that knew her.
Surviving are: 3 daughters, Shirley Danielson, Patricia Pasley, and Judy Foga; 5 sons, Glen, Larry, Keith, David, and Tom Stewart; 30 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Ruby Stewart, Ella Francis Smith, Beulah Bunn, and Violet May; 1 brother, Oscar Anderson. Juanita was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Jean Cornelius; granddaughter, Terri Stewart; and 2 brothers, Wilbur and TJ Anderson.
A funeral service for Juanita will be 1 pm, Tuesday, December 20. She will lie in state at 5 pm, Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Monday. Burial will be at Topeka Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be sent to Grace Missionary Baptist Church, 5821 NW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, Kansas 66617.
