Joyce E. Schneider, 89, of Silver Lake, passed away on November 2, 2018.
Joyce was born August 1, 1929 in Woodward, OK to James and Neva Morlan.
She graduated from high school in Leedey, OK in 1947, the same year a massive tornado devastated the town and her home.
Joyce attended Oklahoma A&M University (which later became Oklahoma State University) in Stillwater, OK. She also attended Enid Business College.
She married the love of her life, Charles Schneider, on December 4, 1949 in Enid, OK. They were married 64 years.
Joyce's most important role was being a devoted wife and wonderful mother. She was a gentle, kind and loving person.
She loved spending time outdoors and tending to her beautiful flowers which she was so proud of. She was a wonderful cook and loved to shop.
Joyce's pride and joy were here two daughters, and later in life also her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Mommo."
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her daughter, Debbie Downs.
She is survived by her daughter, Phoebe Doerr (Tom) of Silverlake; five grandchildren, Ryan Doerr, Megan Renfro (Mike), Jaime Downs, Lori Hodge (Tab) and Kelsey Jones (Austin); five great-grandchildren, Brogan, Brody, and Ben Renfro, Hailey Doerr, and Emery Jones.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6th & Gage, Topeka, KS.
