Joseph Viney

Joseph W. Viney, 89, of Topeka, died Sundady, August 29,2004 at a local care facility.
He was born on August 4, 1914 in Murdock, Kansas to William and Clara Davenport Viney.
After attending school, he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps for three years in thge late ninteen thirties. He then went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad as a carman in 1942 and retired in 1974.
He married Elsie C. Kiper on March 12, 1955 in Wichita.
She preceded him in death on March 6, 1981.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church and a masonic lodge in Wichita.
Survivors include: a brother, Lloyd Viney, of California,
a cousin, Betty Ashel, Wichita; one niece of Colby, KS; a nephew of St. Francis, KS and a nephew of the Denver area.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2004 at First Lutheran Church.
Mr. Viney will l;ie in state after 3:00 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
