Joseph Louis Seyler, Jr., 68, of Topeka, passed away April 4, 2009. He was born November 6, 1940, in Topeka, to Joseph L. Seyler, Sr. and Thelma J. (Seyler) Hilbert. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1958. Joe was a 1964 graduate of the University of Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, a member of the Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, a member of the Kansas Pharmacist Association, and a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
Joe owned and operated a pharmacy in Ottawa, and later in Topeka. He was a pharmacist in Topeka for over 30 years before his retirement. Joe was married to Mary Erickson Seyler from 1962 until 1994, she survives.
Others survivors include three children, Michael L. Seyler, Constance S. (Jeff) Cerjan, and Erica K. (Jason) Miller; and five grandchildren, Annette Seyler, Benjamin Cerjan, and Hayden, John, and Paige Miller.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel with visitation at 12:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Mr. Seyler's name may be given to the American Heart Association, 5375 SW 7th St, Topeka, KS 66606 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
