Joseph Paul Porubsky Jr., 75, Topeka, passed away Saturday, September 2 at his home.
Joe was born August 18, 1931 in Topeka, the son of Joseph and Mary (Kisner) Porubsky. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, a sister Lucille Porubsky and a brother Walt Porubsky.
While working at Ed Marlings he met and married the love of his life, Marie Porubsky. Joe worked at Ed Marlings for 42 years. He was a member of the Kaw Valley Woodcarvers. He loved camping and fishing in the Ozarks and was a charter member of the Boar's Nest fishing club. Joe served in the United States Army. Joe had a wonderful sense of humor and loved all the children in his life.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Porubsky, a brother Edward Porubsky, a sister Anna Marie Brown and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Joe donated his body to science.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Northland Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice and sent in care of Penwell Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
