Joseph T. Paletta, 72, of Topeka, passed away, Monday, December 29, 2003 at Midland Hospice House after a short battle with cancer.
He was born July 13, 1931 at Weed, CA the son of Tomaso "Tony" and Minnie Paletta. He graduated from high school in Weed, CA.
He served in the United States Air Force in Japan and Korea as an aircraft refueler during the Korean War. He was then stationed at Forbes Field, Topeka as a VIP Driver.
He owned and operated his own business in Topeka for 23 years. He worked in various capacities until his retirement in 1999.
He was married to Almina Davis. They later divorced. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Paletta in 1987. Survivors include:

One brother, Frank Paletta Weed, CA
Seven grandchildren and his longtime companion and special friend, Mary Jay of Topeka.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2004 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Paletta will lie in state after 12:00 noon Thursday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
