Joseph Gilless

Joseph Edward Gilless, 51, died January 17, 2009 at the Stormont Health Center. Joe was born December 20,1957 in Topeka, KS. Joe graduated from Topeka West in 1976 and continued his education at Kaw Tech. He was married to his wife, Donna (McCauley) Gilless for 32 years. He was the grandson of J.R. and Mollie Perry. Joe worked in his grandfather's business, Shawnee Furniture Store for many years. He enjoyed his bowling and softball leagues.

Joe is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters, Jennifer and Jodi Gilless of Topeka and two grandchildren, Destiny Wilson and Mitchell Vose. He is also survived by an aunt, Betty Deisher (Topeka); brothers Randy Gilless (Pocahontas, AR), Dan Harris (Bella Vista, AR), and John Harris (Houston, TX). He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Gilless and Emma Jo Harris.

Joe will lie in state at 1:00pm Tuesday Jan. 20th at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Crestview United Methodist Church, 2245 SW Eveningside Dr. Graveside service will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Crestview church or a charity of one's choice.
