Jose Rocha

Jose {Rocket} A. Rocha, 67, of Topeka, passed away, Monday, July 26, 2004 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.

He was born April 30, 1937 at Greeley, CO, the son of Esteban and Pauline Guerrero Rocha.

Jose had worked in various occupations retiring as a truck driver with Yellow Freight after several years.

Rocket was an avid softball player. He was a well known pitcher in the northeast Kansas area.

In the past Jose was a professional musician playing in local bands and clubs.

Survivors include:

one daughter, Michelle Rocha Topeka, KS

one son, Israel Hernandez Topeka, KS

one granddaughter, five brothers and nine sisters. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said 10:00 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Jose will lie in state at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. Thursday. A parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with visitation to follow until 9:00pm.
