Jonathan A. Garcia, 42, Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020.
He was born September 1, 1978, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Daniel and Rosa (Soto) Garcia. He graduated from Garey High School in Pomona, California in 1996 and attended California Baptist University.
Jonathan was a management analyst supervisor for KanCare and also was a part-time librarian at Topeka Shawnee County Public Library.
He was an active member of the Topeka Baptist Church where he taught the 4th & 5th grade boys at children's church. He was also a very active dad, coaching his children with Upward soccer and basketball, as well as Onward basketball. Jonathan's children remember him as always enjoying playing basketball and football. "He taught us life skills from BBQ to car maintenance. He was an excellent home school teacher, mentor, and story teller. He was a man after God's own heart. He is our hero." Jonathan will always be remembered for being a wonderful father and husband.
Jonathan married Analydia Bracamonte on April 29, 2000 in Riverside, California. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Jonathan, Jr., Joel, Grace, and Andrew; his parents, Daniel and Rosa Garcia; three brothers, Daniel Garcia, Jr., Isaac Garcia, and David (Sandra) Garcia; two sisters, Ruth (Daniel) Mata and Sarah (Roman) Bravo; and numerous extended family members.
Private family services will be held at Topeka Baptist Church with burial to follow at Rochester Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Jonathan Garcia Memorial Fund for Jonathan's children's education fund in care of Azura Credit Union.
