John W. Perdue

Large in stature. Sparkling eyes. Deep, infectious laugh. Embracing smile. Humble heart. John William Perdue, a gentleman and gentle man, peacefully entered into rest on February 29, 2008 at his home in Topeka, Kansas after a brief illness. Born on February 7, 1952 in Harrisonville, Missouri, he graduated from Raytown High School in1970 and the University of Central Missouri (formerly CMSU) in 1974 with a degree in Business Administration. On August 18, 1974, he married Rebecca Green. Beginning in high school, he had a 33 year career with Montgomery Ward. For the last 5 years he pursued with joy and passion his job as General Manager for RoomMakers. John is survived by his wife, Becky Perdue, sons, Matt (Anne) and Chris of Topeka; his mother, Marcia Perdue of Kansas City, Missouri; and his sister, Jeanie (Andy) DuBois of Archie, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Perdue. He was loved by all those whose lives he so genuinely touched. Of the things he cherished, none was greater than his family. May he live in eternal peace and happiness. A Memorial service will take place on March 4 at 12:00 p.m. at Western Hills Baptist Church, Auburn Road & 29th street.
