John "Jack" Carl Pankratz, 72, passed away on Oct. 26, 2008 at his home. He was born May 16, 1936, the son of William G. and Ina M. Pankratz.
Jack was a graduate from Hayden High School. He was employed with Ed Marlings for serval years before owning and operating Quality Carpet Installation Service for 40 years. He traveled from coast to coast for Topeka Inn Management installing carpet for Holiday Inn. Jack married Jane Ridgway on Oct. 26, 1957. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1957-1961. He was a proud member of the 2100 club.
Survivors include his wife, Janie; two daughters, Nancy Hester and husband Ray and Tammy Seastrom and husband Mark, both of Topeka; a sister, Mary Potts of Coronado, CA; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Billy.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 30, 2008 at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Jack will lie instate after 5:00 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 28 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
