John Marvin Lahman, Jr. 75, Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2009 at the Topeka V. A. Hospital.
John was born December 21, 1933 in St. Joseph, MO, the son of John Marvin and Lois Jean Lahman. He grew up in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School in 1952.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman from 1952 to 1956.
John married Alice Charlene Miller on June 2, 1956 in Wamego.
He worked as a Real Estate Broker and a Certified Real Estate Appraiser, owning Area 1 Realty and L & M Appraisal Services. He formerly served as President of the Topeka Magic Club, and had been a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians. He could frequently be seen performing at community events, restaurants and private parties.
Survivors include son, Jon Lahman, Topeka; daughter, Robyn Teske, Carbondale; 4 grandchildren, Amanda Teske, Jamey Hasselle, David Sheets, Shane Lahman, Levi Geist; and 1 great grandson, Jasper Gunter.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the All Faiths Chapel, Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Living Center, Bldg. #6, Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center, 2100 SW Gage, Topeka, Kansas 66622.
