John Jackson

John L. Jackson, 73, Topeka, passed away Saturday July 19, 2008 at a local hospital.
John was born in North Platte, NE on Oct. 20, 1934 the son of John W. Jackson and Alice Pearl (Galloway)
Jackson. He married Deesie (Mary L. Whitney) Jackson on June 25, 1959 in Newkirk, OK. She survives. He is, also, survived by two daughters: Kelly Saros, Baycliff, TX. and Carey (Mike) Willmer, Topeka; and three grandchildren: Garth Jackson and Shelby Willmer (Topeka), and Whitney Jackson (Texas).
John was a graduate of Rossville High school and an area nursing school. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1998 after many years working as a medical supply salesperson.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, July 24 at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. John will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 Wednesday where a visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 that evening.
