John William Heller was born October 6, 1915 in Peterton, Kansas to Parmer Clark Heller and Jennie Johns Heller. He passed away at Midland Hospice Care on June 10, 2007.
He was a service and sales representative for General Electric Co. X-Ray Dept. for 35 years. He spent 3 ½ years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Roma Beth Kelly in Belleville, KS and four daughters were born to this union, Linda Ann Manderino (Jerry) of El Dorado, KS, Nan Elizabeth Heller (Robert Gunn) of Pacific Grove, CA, Mary Jane Zimont (Richard) of Houston, TX, and Jennie Johns who died at birth; 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church, Wakarusa Masonic Lodge, and a life member of the Kansas Historical Society and of the National Rifleman's Association.
After retirement he was a Road to Recovery Driver for the American Cancer Society and spent 18 years helping build sets at Topeka Civic Theatre.
Mr. Heller was cremated and Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Belleville City Cemetery, Belleville, KS.
