John H. Forrester, 76, Topeka, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2008.
He was born December 6, 1931 in Emporia, the son of Herb and Faye (Stubbs) Forrester.
After graduating from Emporia High School in 1949, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He worked for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in Emporia and moved to Topeka in 1958 where he worked as a purchasing manager for DuPont and Flexel cellophane plant until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of The First Christian Church and a member of the Masons in Topeka. John was an avid sportsman and fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his children and grandchildren.
John married Carolee Shoebrook on December 19, 1954 in Emporia. She survives. Other survivors include daughter, Angie (Don) Kramer, Overland Park; sons, David Forrester, Springfield, MO, John (Jennifer) Forrester, Topeka; seven grandchildren; and a brother, David Forrester, Grove, OK. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Forrester.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
