Joe D. Bicking, 83, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017.
He was born June 13, 1934 at Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Orville R. and Bernice J. (Ransom) Bicking. He attended the University of Kansas, and came to Topeka in 1963. He worked as a safety engineer for Martin Marietta from 1957 until he retired in 1984.
His memberships include: First Christian Church, Past Master/Member of Orient Lodge No 51 AF&AM, Capital City Daylight Lodge No 454 AF & AM, Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies, Topeka York Rite Bodies, Arab Shrine, Beulah Chapter No 34 of OES, Media Grotto, Ancient Toltec Rite, Red Cross of Constantine, High Twelve Club No. 17, Shawnee Square & Compass Club, Amaranth, DeMolay Legion of Honor, Royal Order of Scotland, Rosicrucian Order Amorc, Scottish Rite Research Society and Missouri Lodge of Research.
A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Orient Lodge No 51 AF&AM will conduct masonic services there. Cremation will follow the services. Inurnment will be in LaHarpe City Cemetery, LaHarpe, Kansas.
