Joanne M. Graham, 81, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011.
She was born February 28, 1930 in Topeka, the daughter of Alice U. and Robert W. Knoll.
She was a graduate of University of Kansas in 1952 with a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy as well earning an accounting degree at Houston Baptist University.
Joanne worked as an executive tax accountant before retiring from Union Texas Petroleum as well as Security Benefit Group. After retirement Joanne continued to volunteer her time to prepare taxes for senior citizens. She will be remembered as a talented craftswoman and her work graces the homes of all those she loved.
She was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church, The Golden Beacon Sunday School Class, Chapter HG of the P.E.O. sisterhood, United Methodist Women and Prairie Land Depression Glass Club.
Survivors include two children, Mary Alice Henderson and Robert Douglas Graham; two grandchildren, Alana and Amy Henderson; one sister, Roberta James.
Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25 at Lowman United Methodist Church, Topeka, KS 66612-1691, a reception will follow. Private Inurnment will take place at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Arrangements were handled by Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel; 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Memorial contributions may be made to Lowman United Methodist Church, 4000 S.W.
