JoAnn Shankland, 62, of Holton, Kansas, passed away July 15, 2009 at her home with her husband by her side after a long battle with cancer.
She was born May 26, 1947 in Yakama, Washington the daughter of Virgil and Glenna (Denton) Fraizer.
She graduated from Topeka High School and was employed at Luce Press Clipping for 38 years before her retirement.
JoAnn married Don Shankland on January 11, 1983 in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include three children, Rachael (Rodney) Elmer, Tait , and Scott (Dianna); 2 granddaughters, Isabella and Adrienne Danelle; 2 sisters, Janet Klug, Kansas City, Kansas, and Kathrine Phoenix, Topeka, Kansas.
A memorial service following cremation will be held Saturday July 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Cir. Topeka, KS 66606
