Joan (Bechtel) Weiser was born 92 years ago in Manhattan, Kansas to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bechtel. There she also met the love of her life and husband, Richard (deceased) of 53 years. She is survived by three children, Julie Weber (Dr. Michael) of Topeka, Rick Weiser (Mindy) of Overland Park, Kansas and Mary Hamilton (Dr. Scott) of Topeka; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She lost her beloved son, Phil Weiser, at the age of 44 of Sarcoidosis. She had one brother, Don Bechtel and he preceded her in passing. Joan was an active member of Countryside United Methodist Church for many decades. She was active in two book clubs and Red Hats. She enjoyed her many close friends. Joan was very strong in her faith and felt her life was greatly blessed. She ran a successful business that she owned and loved for decades. She, however, considers her greatest accomplishment to be her family. A family that loved her happy, positive attitude and loved her so much they all worked together to keep her in her own home until her death.
