Age 80, Topeka, passed away March 15, 2003 at a Topeka care facility. She was born in Grimsby, England March 25, 1922 the daughter of Arthur W. and Eliza Best Nott. She was educated in England and worked at Harrods in London .
She was married to Shirley Mayo April 18, 1944 in Norfolk, England who was in the U.S. Army. Traveled to France , Germany, Beligum, Japan during service years. Moved to Topeka in 1967 and worked in Food Service at Topeka High School retiring in 1986. Member of Univeristy United Methodist Church wher she served as sunday schools treasurer for 15 years. Volunteered for Meals On Wheels , Red Carpet Service at Topeka Public Library. Her Husband Shirley Mayo preceded her in death August 17, 1971.
Survivors Include: One Son: Dennis Mayo Topeka
Two Daughters: Sandra Boykin Severn, Maryland
Patricia M. Long Topeka
Eight Grandchildren Six great grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held at Univeristy United Methodist Church Wednesday March 19, 2003 at 10:00AM. Interment will be at Fort Leavenworth Cemetery. Mrs. Mayo will lie in state from 1:00PM to 9:00PM at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel Tuesday March 18, 2003 where a family vistation will be from 5:30PM-6:30PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to Univeristy United Methodist Church 1621 SW College, Topeka, KS 66604.
