Jessie Hildred McMaster, age 92, Topeka, died Wednesday, October 29, 2003, at McCrite Plaza Retirement Community, in Topeka.
She was born May 25, 1911, in Keene, Kansas, the daughter of Stephen J. and Grace Myers Wright.
She graduated from Maple Hill High School
She married Delbert Clyde McMaster, on November 17, 1936, in Topeka, Ks. He died August 27, 1964. Mrs. McMaster was preceded in death by two brothers; Lon Wright, and Thomas Wright, and two sisters; Faye Copeland and Pearl Vernon.
She resided in Pauline and Topeka during her adult life.
She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, and several other local organizations.
She worked in the retail clothing business for many years, as a department manager for Pelletiers and Clara's in Topeka. Survivors include a son, Rod McMaster and his wife, June, Topeka. Two grandsons, Troy McMaster and his wife Shelly, Tyler McMaster and his wife Kate. Three great grandchildren, Trent McMaster, Courtney McMaster and Cassidy McMaster. And one sister, Irene Eden, Lawrence, Ks.
The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2003, at Penwell Gable Mid Town Chapel. Graceside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Eskridge Cemetery. Mrs. McMaster will lie in state after 12:00 noon Saturday and visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
