Jesse Casper Miller, 81, of Topeka, Kansas passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 at a local hospital.
Jesse was born in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Edward and Jesse (Hood) Miller. He received his education through the Topeka Public School system. At an early age, he expressed his love for God and attended Antioch Baptist Church. He later in life attended the Shiloh Baptist Church.
He was in the Air Force and served in World War II as a paratrooper. He enjoyed shooting pool and playing cards.
Preceding him in death were a wife, Adella Booker Miller; brother, David L. Staten (2007); and one nephew, Eugene Sharp, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Edward Miller (Denver, CO), Erron Grimes (Topeka, KS); a sister, Traphenia McClelland (Topeka, KS); sister in law, Naomi Staten (Topeka, KS); nephew, Robert McClelland (Topeka, KS); niece, Donnetta Staten Wheeler (Kansas City, KS); nine grandchildren; and three children, Sidney, Janson, and Justin Gleason (Lyons, KS) in which he assisted in bringing up; and loving companion, Tammy Smith (Topeka, KS).
He will be missed by many relatives and friends.
