Jerry D. Stitt

Jerry Dean Stitt, 86, of Topeka, KS, passed away on February 17, 2018.

He was born on July 6, 1931 in Topeka to Byron F. and Dale Flora (Israel) Stitt.

He grew up in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School.

Jerry worked as a maintenance machinist for over 35 years for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.

He married Delores Kious on March 15, 1952.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Delores Stitt; children, Deborah Burns (Kenneth), Gregory Stitt (Victoria), Cindy Martinek, and Benjamin Stitt (Valentina); 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren (plus three more on the way); as well as other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, June Rigg, Betty Elder, and Mary Ann Ireland; and a son-in-law, Mark Martinek.

The family will receive friends during a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until noon on Friday, February 23, 2018 in the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka. A graveside service will follow the visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society or to Midland Care.
