Jerry Lynn Medley, 68, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on July 19, 2024, at his home.
He was born on June 9, 1956, to John and Norma (Graborn) Medley in Westmorland, Kansas.
Jerry grew up in Manhattan, KS and graduated from Manhattan Senior High the class of 1974.
He worked for a few stores but found his passion was in cooking for others. He made world class apple pies at BoBo's in Topeka and worked in the cafeteria at St. Francis where he would conversate and show great hospitality to anyone he met. Jerry would cook for anyone who asked or just enjoyed hosting a great meal.
He was a member of Metropolitan Community Church of Topeka where he sung in the choir. He would also perform solos for the church and was in charge of hospitality for many years.
He loved riding, singing, and going on vacation. He would sing and loved to be navigator everywhere he went.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his cats Jordy and Sly Kitty, neighbors dog that was dear to him, Muffin, Freckles and Gia; dogs that Jerry and Brandon adopted together.
He is survived by his partner/spouse Brandon Bruton of the home and many friends.
A memorial service will be held for Jerry on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation starting one hour prior at the Metropolitan Community Church of Topeka.
