Jerry Lee Jackson, 70, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

He was born November 23, 1953, in Troy, Kansas, the son Marion John and Dolores Ann (Frederick) Jackson. He was a 1971 graduate of Troy High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement from Washburn University in 2013. Mr. Jackson began his military career in the United States Army in 1971 and would continue to serve until being honorably discharged after 32 years of service.

Jerry was employed by Shawnee County Parks and Recreation as a Patrolman and for the Army National Guard Security in Topeka.

Jerry married Melody Ann Loury on December 14, 2010 in Topeka, Kansas. She survives in Topeka. Other survivors include his children, Scott Jackson of Topeka, Christopher James (Heather) Jackson of Wamego, KS and their children, Ashley and Jordan, Becky Jo (Chad) Roberts of Wamego, KS and their children, Ian and Brooklyn, Adam Joseph (Keriann) Jackson of Lubbock, TX and their children, Christopher and Kevin and Katherin (Carlos Keeling) Billings of Topeka and their children, Cherrish and Caleb; his grandchildren from Tabatha Wright, who preceded him in death, Joshua Beshears, Colby Wright and Jaysen Wright; his granddaughter he helped raise, Cynthia Anne Vàsquez and her children, Kaeli Shaelyn Vàsquez and Holden Drake Jackson Krieschel; his brothers, Michael Jackson and Virgil Lee Jackson, both of Topeka; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tabatha Jo Wright; his parents; and his sister, Katheya Jackson.

Jerry loved his family dearly. He enjoyed playing golf, telling stories on the golf course and attending auctions. He was an amazing, loving, giving person who didn't know a stranger.

Military honors will take place at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604, where the family will receive friends until 8:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 5500 East Kellogg, Room 112, Wichita, KS 67218.
