Jerry (J.C.) Carver passed away Wednesday, April 16 after an extended illness. He was born Feb. 1, 1930 the son of Dr. J.F. Carver and Grayce Lobingier Carver in Parkville, MO. He attended schools in Baldwin City, KS but graduated from Tampa High School, Tampa, KS. He was a Korean veteran and a life time member of VFW Post 1650.
Jerry retired from Goodyear after 35 years of service in 1985. He was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 175 and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Niemann on June 21, 1953 in Nortonville, KS.
Survivors include: Wife, Marge; Daughters, Cynthia (Ken) Fensin, Holden, MA; Sharon (Jim) Lee, Mahnomen, MN; Nancy (Alan) Brown, Olathe, KS; Son, Marc (Melissa) Carver, Papillion, NE; 7 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Jerry (J.C.) will lie in state after 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 21, 2008 at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial with Military Honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66604.
