Jeremy Lee Drexler, 23, of Topeka, was killed in action in Iraq while defending his country.
He was born July 20, 1980 in Ft. Leavenworth, KS the son of Karl and Debbie (Griffin) Drexler. Jeremy was a 1999 graduate of Washburn Rural High School. He has served in the United States Army since November 13, 2002. He was stationed in Iraq since January 2004.
Survivors include his parents, Karl and Debbie Drexler, Topeka: two brothers, Seaman Timothy Drexler (U.S. Navy) and LCpl Kenneth Drexler and his wife Sara (U.S. Marines), grandparents, William Drexler, Oakdale, CT; Nira Griffin, Carrollton, GA; and his niece Nevaeh Drexler.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Jeremy will lie in state after 12:00 noon Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. The casket will remain closed. Online condolences may be left at www.penwellgabel.com.
