Jennifer Kay Parnell, 61, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at her home.

She was born October 15, 1946 in Hays, KS the daughter of Irv and Becky Franzen.

Mrs. Parnell was a member of Gage Park Baptist Church where she served as the organist for 25 years. She was an active volunteer at McEachron Elementary School.

She served as a legal secretary for 17 years in Japan and Topeka.

Jennifer married Bud Parnell October 17, 1964 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include, her daughter, Brenda Fangman and her husband Jim, Atlanta, GA; two sons, Brad Parnell, Sherman Oaks, CA; Brian Parnell and his wife Briana, Tampa Bay, FL; three grandchildren, Taylor and Ben Fangman, and Luke Parnell; one sister, Roxana Turner and her husband Ken, Lyndon, KS; two brothers, Mark Franzen and his wife Connie, San Jose, CA; Dana Franzen and his wife Shelley, Monument, CO. She was preceded in death by one brother Luke Franzen.

Mrs. Parnell will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Gage Park Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas Avenue, P.O. Box 8550, Topeka, 66608.
