Jeannette B. Runyan, 97, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014.
She was born February 12, 1917, daughter of William Francis Bowen and Edith (Davis) Bowen.
Jeannette graduated from Topeka High School in 1934 and the University of Kansas in 1938 receiving a degree in English. She also completed studies at the Catharine Gibbs Secretarial School of Boston, in 1940.
Jeannette was married to Roderick Runyan. He precedes her in death.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Cheryl Runyan, step daughter, Anne Clements, cousins, Cynthia Wahle and Doug Bowen, and other relatives.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2014, at St. David's Episcopal Church, Topeka. Private interment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Jeannette will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. today, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka.
