Jeannette E. Kerns

Jeannette E. Kerns, 48, of Rossville, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on February 27, 1961 in Marquette, MI, the daughter of Norman F. and Margaret S. Singleton Durst. She came to Topeka in 1977 where she had resided before moving to Rossville in January of this year. Jeannette was employed by Westar Energy as a customer service representative for many years. Jeannette married Michael D. Kerns. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Brandi R. (Randall) Blackwell, two grandchildren, Michael and Heather, her siblings, Gary Forsyth, George Durst, Annette Durst, Leah Durst and Caroline Latsch. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
