Jeannette "Jeannie" Dachroth, 98, of Topeka, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019.
She was born January 2, 1921, in Nauvoo, Illinois, the daughter of Allen and Coralie (Hamma) Dachroth.
She graduated from Nauvoo High School and attended University of Michigan and University of Illinois. She was married to Max Elsberry.
Jeannie taught piano lessons in Topeka for 54 years before retiring in 2013. She also worked for Atlantic Mutal Insurance Company of New York, NY and as a sales associate for clothing in Chicago, Il, Saks Fifth Avenue in the Galleria in Dallas, TX, Carol Hollis Dress Shop and Jones Store in Topeka, KS.
She belonged to Beta Sigma Phi and Patroness to Sigma Alpha Iota Sororities. She was Grape Queen in 1939 over Centennial Pageant and annual Grape Festival in Nauvoo, Il. Jeannie was also a professional petite model.
She is survived by two cousins,Sandra Bremhorst and Rosanne M. Bertschi both in Nauvoo, Il.
A Funeral Ceremony will be 10:00 am., Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka in the Abbey Chapel. Private burial will follow.
