Jeanne White, 80, of Topeka passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
She was born September 4, 1942, in Pampa, Texas, the daughter of Walter and Treva (Hinkle) Colson. She graduated in the class of 1961 from Knox City High School. She also attended business school in Lubbock.
Jeanne loved her family tremendously.
She had many hats through her life. She volunteered at Meals on Wheels, worked for the State of Kansas for several years; was an Office Manager at Menninger's internal medicine department, Family Readiness Coordinator for the 190th ARW and was the personal secretary to the Vice President Show Biz Pizza.
When Jeanne wasn't working or spending time with her beloved family, you could catch her outside working in her flower bed or painting a beautiful masterpiece. Jeanne enjoyed playing the piano and listening to just about all kinds of especially gospel and country western. She also had love for traveling.
Jeanne married Larry Truman White on August 25, 1962, in Knox City, Texas, he survives.
Other survivors include her son Brian (Michele) White, of Mckinney, Texas grandsons Jonathan White, Daniel White, and Matthew White, all of Mckinney, Texas. twin sister Jeanette Hess of Amarillo, Texas and brother Lynn Colson of College Station Texas.
She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney White; parents; sisters Elwanda Romines and Rosalie Imel.
The family will greet friends form 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Penwell-Gabel 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka.
Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Penwell-Gabel 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Jeanne's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
