Jeanette R. (Charles) Shinn, 90, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
She was born May 5, 1930, in Thomas County, Kansas, the daughter of John and Maude (Spriggs) Charles.
Jeanette was very strong willed and stubborn but the most easy going. Above all else she loved her family and loved spending time with them. She loved animals, especially her dogs and cats. She thoroughly enjoyed playing computer games; particularly Farmville. She enjoyed sewing and bowling. She was a good 'ol country cook and definitely had a sweet tooth. She made her dogs meals every day.
Jeanette married William Shinn on December 24, 1949 in Colby, KS. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2006. Survivors include her son, Robert Todd Shinn, daughter, Terry K. (Randy) Elliott and sister, Kay Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, June Decker, Frances Slaughter, and Dorothy Charles.
Cremation is planned and services will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth Ave., Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS, 66604-3720.
