Jean Y. Keck Sipes, 65, of Topeka, passed away Friday, January 13, 2006 at her home.
Jean was born April 18, 1940, daughter of Clarence and Minnie Drinen Keck on their farm near Oketo in Marshall County.
She and her identical twin, June, established Keck Twins Beauty Shop in Topeka and worked side by side for many years.
Jean was married to Lee Sipes, Jr. of Topeka; who preceded her in death.
Jean was a member of Fellowship Bible Church and was active in the Topeka Round-Up Club. She loved horses all of her life and was very generous in sharing them with her family.
Survivors include three sisters, Hazel Kelley, Violet Kelley, and Rosie Barnes; two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Keck; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marjorie Maxine Snell and June Rice; three brothers, Jesse, Harold, and Glen Keck.
A funeral service for Jean will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 18 at Fellowship Bible Church. She will not lie in state, nor will there be a visitation. Memorial contributions may be sent to Fellowship Bible Church, Building Fund, 7627 SW 17th Street, Topeka, KS 66615. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
