Jean M. Ramsey, 90, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012, Topeka.
Jean was born July 12, 1922, in Alma, Kansas, the daughter of Max P. and Bessie (Ketterman) Kietzman. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1940. She was a long-time Topeka resident.
On September 25, 1951, Jean married Louis "Doc" Ramsey. They were married 53 years before he preceded her in death on November 4, 2004.
Mrs. Ramsey was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Phillip Bollard Post No. 1650 and attended Crestview United Methodist Church.
Jean worked at Capper Publications from 1940 to 1942. She then started working for the State, retiring from the Kansas Department of Human Resources, Employment Security Division, in November of 1984.
She is survived by a nephew, Robert M. Bond, Kansas City; a step-daughter, Nancy Buchanan, Phoenix; four step grandchildren; and 11 step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 20, 2012, at the Mount Hope Chapel, Topeka, and interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour before services.
