Our Lord opened His arms and welcomed Jean Ellen Cloud home on Thursday, December 17, 2015. Jean was surrounded by her loved ones during her final days.
Eldest daughter of Derrell and Frances McRae, Jean was born March 12, 1953, in Topeka, Kansas. She was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church. Jean's passions included fishing, chatting with friends on the CB radio, watching NASCAR races, and solving puzzles. Her pets held a special place in her heart, especially Missy, Bandit, and Peepers. A lifelong poet, Jean always included a verse or two in any card she sent. Jean's heart was full of love, and that love was shared abundantly with her friends and family.
Survivors include her precious daughter, Keeya Thompson; loving mother, Frances McRae; sister, Karen Light; brother-in-law, Rodney Light; two nieces, Jennifer Light and Tracy Light; aunt, Doris Stubby; and numerous cousins. Preceding her in death were her two husbands, Donald Thompson and Joe Cloud.
A remembrance service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at Faith Lutheran Church in Topeka, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations in memory of Jean to the Saint Luke's Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, 4400 Broadway, Suite 520, Kansas City, Missouri 64111 or Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st Street, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
