Jean A. Ellis, 88, of Topeka, passed away March 15, 2014, at Topeka Presbyterian Manor. She was born January 12, 1926, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of James E. and Emma (Matthews) Clark.
On September 18, 1944, in Washington, Kansas, she married Leon Ellis. He survives. Other survivors include daughter, Patty (Fred) White; son, Kenneth Ellis; sister, Vivian Edwards; two grandchildren, Kimberly and Richard; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Kaylee. She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Jean enjoyed teaching Sunday school and attending the ladies class at Highland Park Church of Christ.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Quivira Heights Church of Christ, 1718 SW Crest Drive, Topeka, Kansas 66604. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, Topeka Presbyterian Manor, or St. Francis Hospital.
